I got chatting to a producer named Joakuim a few years back at an Exit Records event in London and since then he’s been hitting my inbox with golden nuggets of liquid deepness and had tracks released on labels like Fokuz and Flight Pattern. Now with a debut album on the way named Des Fleurs on Sable Noir Recordings, I asked him to take us through ten tracks that inspired it…

Nujabes –  sea of cloud
one of my favourites tune from nujab melow vibes and really cool feelings here definitely one of the tracks that made me start working at other tempos and digging the jazz and cinematic music a bit more

Stray – Pushed
different way of perception of the deepness here one of the best tracks from the mosaic vol.1 to my taste

Jorge Reyes y Antonio Zepeda – A la izquierda del Colibrí
amazing prehispanic music always loved the ethnic music and as somebody who lives in mexico this is a reference musical but also cultural

Calibre – Deep every time
classic from calibre how to do a masterpiece with only a few elements
great music to listen in a club or simply at home and relax

Calibre – Stoned
great roller nothin else to say haha

Robert Glasper – Cherish the Day (feat. Lalah Hathaway)
from the black radio album simply one of the best album of this decade
the jazzman brought us here a fantastic album every single tune is amazing

Augustus Pablo – King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown
the roots of the use of the space… lol spring verbs, mad delays.. and all that 🙂

Ahmad Jamal trio – The Awakening
great tune great album found out after having a listen for the 1st tima that this has been sampled quite a lot!! a glass of mezcal lights down what a trip!

Lonnie Liston Smith – Shadows
for all those that know their dnb culture the first few secs will make you recognise one of the most important dnb tunes of all times.. 🙂
but apart from that a fantastic tunes from the cosmic funk guru that is lonnis smith

Dj Krush – Kemuri
one of the most interesting producers of all times to my taste he opened my eyes on what music should be like
