Had to limit my picks for this month as so much good stuff has landed in my inbox. But here are my whittled down DNB picks for November…

LSB – Content [Soul:r]

The one fans of liquid Drum and Bass have been waiting for as LSB drops his debut LP on Soul:r a and it does not disappoint. From intro track Lydian featuring vocals from Millie Watson you can tell LSB is sticking to what he does best with lovely deep sounds along with his signature crisp and snappy drums. However along side excellent rolling liquid tracks like The Optimist, Sketch For My Sweetheart and Missing You we also have some stripped backed tracks like Pandora and Catching Lightning featuring MC’s Sense and DRS respectively. Album of 2016? probably a yes from me.

Kimyan Law – Zawadi [Blu Mar Ten Music]

Kimyan Law’s second LP on Blu Mar Ten’s label picks up where the first 2014 effort left off. It’s hard describe just how different and forward thinking this album is so just give it a listen I’d say! but to give you and idea it’s 11 tracks which push the boundaries of 170 music and one of those albums that will perfectly take you to another planet through your headphones on the commute.

Alix Perez – Numbers EP [1985 Music]

Alix Perez’s own 1985 shows no sign of dipping in quality with this latest EP from the man himself. The Numbers EP features a nice mix of stripped back liquid in Numbers and Drifting along side bass line dance floor destroyers The Raven and Inside your love.

Various Artists – Microfunk EP Vol. 2 [MicroFunk Music]

Russian producer Bop drops the second volume of Microfunk’s Various artist EP’s and this one features tracks from Himself Sileni, Despot, Dissident, Oak and The Microfunk crew. Despite it being several years since Instra:mental and dBridge pioneered the ‘Autonomic’ sound this EP shows it still as fresh and futuristic sounding as ever with it’s combo of glitchy and deep sounds.

Shoto – Can’t Resist / Da Funk [Nurtured Beatz Recordings]

2 Dancefloor killers here from Shoto on Nurtured Beatz. Big bass, Crisp drums and stabby sounds are the formula here executed to excellent effect.

Satl – Satl & Friends EP Vol. 2 [Fokuz Recordings]

Polish Liquid producer Satl has featured heavily in my essential picks this year and with good reason as yet another excellent EP shows. This latest outing on Fokuz sees Satl colab with his freinds Lurch, Command Strange, Mortem and Velocity, which should make any self respecting liquid fan excited!

Mitekiss – Final Hours EP [SGN:LTD]

4 Lovely slices of deep liquid here from newcomer to the Shogun team Mitekiss. Title track Final Hours has slipped straight into my recent sets with its lovely reverby (is that a word?) pianos and dreamy vocal. The following 3 tracks continue in the same vein with deep pads, pianos and excellent vocals.

Joakuim – Give You / Tranquille [Flight Pattern]

Flight Pattern continues to push out some beautiful vibes with this latest effort from producer Joakuim. Give you is a super deep stripped back roller whilst Tranquille is centered around a sweet Jazzy piano lead, Lovely.

M-zine & Scepticz – Fixture / Mainstay / Recollect [Avantgarde Recordings]

A lot of liquid this month so lets look at something a bit heavier from the Avantgarde camp.  M-zine & Scepticz deliver 3 techy rollers and my pick of the bunch has to be Recollect featuring Observe which I guarantee will result in serious cases of bass face!

Various Artists – Midnight Rollers vol.2 [Midnight Sun Recordings]

A various artist’s EP from Physic’s Midnight Sun Recordings featuring L.A.O.S, Stunna, DMA and Physics himself. Check out my recent chat with Physics for more on this one.
