A bit later than usual (sorry!) but here’s my slightly rushed round up of the best new DNB…

Rhyming In Fives – Light Leaks EP [Narratives Music]

The along awaited return of Rhyming In Fives was well worth the wait! following on from his debut last year this EP brings more soundscape styles with 80’s inspired synths, pads and stepping drums. Narratives continues to push the boundaries of 170 music to great effect, if you purchase any music this month make it this!

Lenzman – Looking at the stars Remixes [Metalheadz]

Lenzman has assembled a top line up of producers to remix last years ‘Looking  at the stars’ album on Metalheadz enlisting LSB, Ivy Lab, Submorphics, Ulterior Motive, Zero T and dBridge. The EP includes Ivy Lab’s smooth rework of ‘Paper faces’, LSB putting whats fast becoming his trademark rolling sound on ‘Stars’ and Ulterior Motive toughening up ‘My Tearz’.

Anile – Perspective [Med School]

Anile is a name I’ve been following keenly over the last few years and now he drops his debut Album on Med School. This is a nicely rounded effort incorporating liquid, tech and rolling sounds. A solid debut album

Amoss – Crab Stance / Liqer / A.C.F Remix [Flexout Audio]

Techstep done properly as Amoss drop 3 huge dance floor destroyers with big bass on flexout.

Lurch – Don’t wait EP [Vibration Records]

Lurch is name we’ve been seeing more of more of recently with releases on the likes of Intrigue and Soul Deep and now he brings us 3 lovely clean slices of liquid on Vibration recordings.

Physics and Surplus – Bullet Guy / Space Cadet [Soul Trader Records]

Physics and Surplus bring us 2 rough and tough rollers on Soul Trader. Rolling drums meet outer space vibes to great effect and a different refreshing style to a lot of stuff floating around right now.

DJ Chap – Terrorist EP [Chronic Records]

DJ Chap goes a little darker for his outing on Chronic whilst still maintaining his own style throughout.

Pennygiles – I’m sorry / Lyra / Know a lie [Integral Records]

Pennygiles demonstrates his versatility enlisting the help of Sevin, Ed:it and Phil Tagent with his debut release on Integral.

Dead Man’s Chest – Nautilus EP [Ingredients Records]

Dead man’s Chest AKA Eveson brings us some modern jungle with an EP inspired by some 90’s sounds.
